Accessibility Statement

Everyone deserves access to questionable mugs.

At Ugly Mug, we want as many people as possible to be able to use our website, browse our mugs and place an order without unnecessary barriers.

We’re committed to improving the accessibility of ugly-mug.co.uk and making the experience as straightforward and inclusive as we reasonably can.

Our approach

We’re working towards recognised accessibility best practice, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA.

As part of that, we aim to consider things such as:

clear, readable text;
suitable colour contrast;
logical headings and page structure;
useful alternative text for images;
keyboard accessibility;
clear links, buttons and forms;
layouts that work across different screen sizes and devices; and
compatibility with commonly used assistive technologies.

Accessibility isn’t something we consider finished. Websites change, technology changes and occasionally something that behaved itself yesterday decides not to today. We’ll continue reviewing and improving the site as Ugly Mug develops.

Having trouble using the site?

If something on our website is difficult for you to access or use, please tell us.

Email us at mugstomerservice@uglymug.store and let us know:

which page or part of the site you’re having trouble with;
what you were trying to do; and
anything that would help us understand the problem.

We’ll do our best to fix the issue where we can and, where appropriate, help you access the information or service another way.

That includes helping with an order if an accessibility issue is preventing you from completing it through the website.

Third-party services

Like most ecommerce websites, Ugly Mug uses third-party platforms and services to provide parts of the shopping experience, including Shopify and other services involved in areas such as payments and website functionality.

Some of these elements are not entirely within our direct control. Where we become aware of an accessibility problem involving a third-party service, we’ll do what we reasonably can to address it, provide an alternative where possible, or raise the issue with the relevant provider.

We’d rather know

If we’ve missed something, tell us.

Accessibility issues aren’t an inconvenience to report and you’re not wasting our time by pointing one out. Feedback helps us make the site better for you and for whoever comes along next.

Email mugstomerservice@uglymug.store and we’ll take it from there.
